The Wargame Case

The Wargame Case coupled with Encounter is probably the most compact and portable fully featured wargame in the world. At 32cm square and just under 11cm deep it is small enough to use on a train, and the smooth exterior cut from 6mm birch plywood ensures excellent protection for whatever delights you choose to store within. Almost every single edge is a tight and fine finger joint that provides maximum strength and pleasing aesthetics, and the brass hinge, latches and handle caps add a touch of class. The drawers have been designed to a tolerance of 0.5mm, and they are all magnetised for security.

Once the case is unfolded, it is apparent that every single millimetre of space has been optimised for efficiency. There are lift-out boxes for your miniatures, each with one or more trays that can be configured to your requirements. In the middle there is a space that could be used for terrain or other scenery, and each player has access to a generous compartment that is useful for tokens, dice, and other gaming aids. The lid for each compartment lifts to serve as a card rest. There is a felt lined dice tray that can be finished in your choice of colours, and hidden within one of the cushions is a secret compartment accessed by pushing a button under the case handle. Perhaps this could be used to store some ‘lucky’ dice, or a hero miniature..

The 30cm square playing surface is housed within the lid of the box. It is intended to be used with a game mat, but there is no reason why it couldn’t be flocked or modelled in other ways. Underneath the playing surface there is a drawer 22mm deep and large enough to accommodate an A5 format book. Adjacent to this there is another drawer for each player that is large enough to accommodate two decks of poker sized playing cards. Finally, there is a drawer underneath the case handle that could be used for more tokens, cards, or miniatures.
