Where to Get Miniatures
Encounter is miniature agnostic, so you can use miniatures from your favourite universes! The factions fit familiar sci-fi themes and there is definitely no shortage of options, whether you like to print your own on a 3D printer or buy off-the-shelf metal or plastic models.
We have compiled a list of potential suppliers that happen to offer models that complete one or more of the Encounter faction unit rosters. This is by no means a definitive list, but it should give you a good starting point!
Vanguard Miniatures (UK)
Vanguard Miniatures carry an extensive line of metal and resin models that covers the entire Encounter unit roster. Their Novan Elites make perfect Star Marines, Novan Regulars can be used as IDF, and Skinners are Grunts by another name. They also happen to be the biggest supplier of 3mm sci-fi models - great for the travel version of Encounter!
KMFP (Digital)
KMFP is one of the best places to start if you prefer to print your own miniatures, and they have extensive lines that cover at least two of the Encounter factions. KMFP Orbital Knights make brilliant Star Marines, and Metal Mauraders are a fresh take on the Grunt architype. You could even use their Goliath Consortium as IDF if you fancy fielding some especially short humans...
Wakelssrex (Digital)
Wake offers a great range of printable 3D models that fit the IDF and Grunt themes perfectly. In addition to more traditional sci-fi human soldiers, there are a number of fun flavours, so if you get the urge to field a 'British' or 'Spanish' far future army, you can!
Alternative Armies (UK)
Alternative Armies carry the Bradley Miniatures line of 6mm sci-fi models in the UK. These metal models make excellent Star Marine and IDF units for those who appreciate the ease of purchasing physical miniatures without having to get their hands dirty with printer resin or filament!
Noble Knight (US)
Noble Knight carry the Bradley Miniatures line in the US (see Alternative Armies).
RealmOf3dprints (Poland)
If you like the look of some of the 3D printed miniatures out there but don't have a printer, RealmOf3dprints is a great place to source them from. They can supply both KMFP and Wakelssrex models as well as plenty of other designers.
