Heroic Battles in the Far Future
Encounter is the hex-based, miniatures agnostic game that takes the tape measures out of wargaming and replaces them with FUN. Get started by adding a handful of 3mm to 10mm miniatures, a few bits of terrain, and a cunning plan! Its innovative hex system eliminates the need for measuring and debate over line of sight yet it accommodates formations of varying size, from lone units to hoards of mixed infantry and vehicles.
The battlefield is a mere 60cm square (30cm if you’re mad enough to try the 3mm scale version), and the one player will usually emerge victorious within just an hour of play time.
Encounter is miniatures agnostic, so you can use models from your favourite universes. The game below is being played using KMFP‘s Orbital Knights and Vanguard Miniatures terrain
Unique Mechanics
Heroes play a pivotal role, often spearheading attacks, soaking up enemy fire and delivering crushing blows to any who get in their way. Be warned they are not immortal, and losing your Supreme Commander will severely impede your path to victory!
Each player has access to a range of Battlefield Tactics that can be tailored to deal with specific threats. Facing enemy heavy armour? Pack a magnetic mine to eliminate it. Are hoards of infantry closing on your position? Call in an off-table barrage and saturate the area with shells!

Encounter is perfect for scales from 10mm right down to 3mm. Our battle mat designed for 3mm miniatures is a compact 30cm square, so you really can play anywhere from a coffee table to a train carriage. The example below is shown paired with our Wargame Case which is handmade to order in limited quantities.
